SEATTLE WA- SEPTEMBER 17 Quarterback Brian Hoyer #2 of the San Francisco 49ers looks to pass during the second half of the game at Century Link Field

Here are the grades for the Seahawks' 12-9 win over the 49ers Sunday.

Quarterback Brian Hoyer and his receivers never got rolling in the 12-9 loss to the Seahawks as the 49ers' 2017 squad became the first in franchise history to fail to score a touchdown in the first two weeks of the season.

Carson managed to rack up 93 yards on the ground across 20 carries, including a few crucial first down pickups on the last drive of the game, securing the win for Seattle. Wilson had just 198 passing yards but did throw for the game-winning score. It will be important for San Francisco to try to get into a quick rhythm in the passing game by getting the ball to Pierre Garcon.

Seattle's defense is expected to be one of the most complete units in the league this season.

However, it was the drive that followed, the one that didn't result in points, that mattered most on Sunday afternoon.

"Ugly as hell. Very ugly".

"The fight. That's what I take away", Hyde said afterward. "Did I know I was going to finish it off in the fourth quarter?"

Seattle has now beaten San Francisco in seven consecutive meetings. Hoyer threw for just 47 yards in the first half and threw his second interception of the season. It will be against much better teams than the 49ers.

RUNNING HIERARCHY: Seattle is making pretty clear for now the hierarchy of its running backs. He is scheduled to suit up in this one, but Carson should also get a lot of looks.

SEATTLE WA- SEPTEMBER 17 Running back Carlos Hyde #28 of the San Francisco 49ers is taken down by free safety Earl Thomas #29 of the Seattle Seahawks and defensive end Frank Clark #55 during the second half of the game at Century Link Field on September
Running back Carlos Hyde ran for 124 yards his second straight 100-yard game in Seattle

Carlos Hyde eclipsed the 100-yard rushing mark (15 carries, 124 yards), and he was complemented by rookie understudy Matt Breida, who broke runs of 11 and 13 yards to help set up Gould's third field goal.

The Seahawks expect to have running back Thomas Rawls available to play, giving them a boost on offense. The team averaged just 1.9 yards on the other carries. It was the longest run allowed by Seattle's defense in the regular season since 2012. Hyde chipped in with three catches for 19 yards.

Seattle has to work out issues on its offensive line that still should keep them from really busting out like they'd like. Wilson also looked antsy at times even in clean pockets, perhaps still feeling the effects of all the pressure he faced in Green Bay. Graham was targeted only two times.

If not for Wilson's timely footwork, those kicks might have been enough for a San Francisco team that was study defensively.

Carson ran for gains of 9, 2, 12, 2 and 16 yards to close things out. At least Rawls was active, which is more than Eddie Lacy can say. The Hoyer-led offense produced just 217 yards.

First, Russell Wilson had to evade two different pass rushers in the pocket. "I wasn't just trying to get out there, 'Oh he's tough, he's finishing out the game.' I wanted to go make a difference".

"We definitely want to hold them to less than nine points in a game like that", cornerback Richard Sherman said, "especially with the way that it was going offensively". If San Francisco can cause similar disruption after failing to register a sack against Carolina, then the Niners will have a genuine chance and concern for Seattle's O-Line will grow.
