But the latest chapter in the secret service franchise has a clear favorite - Elton John.

"Kingsman: The Golden Circle", writer/director/producer Matthew Vaughn's sequel to 2014's stylish spy flick, delivers what fans of the first installment were looking for: a terrific cast, entertaining and physics-bending fight scenes, amusing dialogue, and quite the enjoyable soundtrack.

That familiar cast we grew to love in the first film return including the not-so-secret return of Colin Firth's Harry. It is also an all-starrer in the old-fashioned way, with the first half of the movie constantly enervated by the "entry" of a superstar actor every few scenes.

"With regard to fighting in those suits, it has its moments", said Taron Egerton, who plays headstrong protagonist Eggsy Unwin in the "Kingsman" series, at a press conference at CGV Yongsan in Seoul, Thursday. But if you're a fan of the first, you definitely have to go watch it!

As a result, the final showdown seems more predictable than provocative, revealing the film to be a compilation of half-realized ideas that never come full-circle.

Overstuffed, over-busy and overlong, "Kingsman: The Golden Circle" is an exhausting, patience-trying assault that doesn't know when to say when.

Kingsman: The Secret Service was a smart, stylised take on classic spy films that brought a much-needed sense of fun back to the genre. It's a strictly okay film, but one tends to expect much better from the likes of director Matthew Vaughn.

Amusing thing. I was thinking just the other day I was overdue to hear Elton John's Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting on a movie soundtrack again.

Julianne Moore was told by Colin Firth that she was wanted for the villain role in "Kingsman: The Golden Circle" by text message. More unpleasant sexual politics, which may/may not be offset by headshots and classic rock (and the hilarious presumption that people in the United Kingdom and Sweden are regular viewers of Fox News). Plus, the action sequences were absolutely stunning, with cameras doing 360-degree turns, cool slo-mos and acrobatic fight choreography. "There's so many options, but I also think it's better not to be too greedy". Like, WAY too many dogs - puppies, old dogs, stuffed and even robotic.

A still from Kingsman: The Golden Circle.

The review embargo for Kingsman: The Golden Circle has now been lifted and it appears as if the sequel is not as well received as the first one. When the entire Kingsman network is almost wiped out within the first few minutes of the film, Eggsy and Merlin (Mark Strong) set out on a quest to avenge the attacks.

Is Elton John known for swearing a lot, or did Vaughn and Goldman just find it amusing to imagine the legendary singer as cantankerous and foul-mouthed? You've got a former Bond girl (Halle Berry), a revered character actress (Julianne Moore), The Dude (Jeff Bridges), a breakout TV star (Pedro Pascal), an acting legend (Michael Gambon) and an action hero with comedy chops (Channing Tatum).
