3 bold predictions for Texans' home clash with Titans

Texans cornerback Kevin Johnson right can do little but watch as wide receiver Will Fuller makes a catch in training camp. But by breaking his collarbone Wednesday Fuller will be doing the watching for the next two to three months

Tennessee quarterback Marcus Mariota left the game at halftime against the Houston Texans with a hamstring injury. Matt Cassel took over and struggled, throwing two interceptions and losing a fumble in the second half.

Mariota produced an uneven first half, completing 6 of 10 attempts for 96 yards while also rushing for 39 yards and a pair of touchdowns, including a 34-yard dash that put the Titans on the scoreboard. With a quarter to spare Sunday, Watson became the first rookie in Texans history to throw three touchdowns in a game. Yeah, this Watson kid can play. Miller finished with 23 touches for 131 yards on Sunday. Watson has thrown for 684 yards and six touchdowns in that two-game span. With a tantalizing mix of poise, accuracy, elusiveness and moxie, Watson showcased his wares while orchestrating an offensive attack that complemented another sterling defensive display. The Texans set a franchise record for most points scored racking up 57 in a blowout win to send the Titans to 2-2. He posted just 167 yards passing with zero touchdowns and three interceptions in a soft matchup against the Saints last week, who were also without their top cornerback, rookie Marshon Lattimore. Houston looked great last weekend before falling to Brady and now returning home I think they ride that play into a win and cover against the Titans. He faces a Tennessee team today that is going to shut down the Houston run and force him to beat them.

"Just the adjustments he can make on the field, going on the sideline, going out and correcting it". Those runs were about the only things that went right for the Titans while they were being routed 57-14 by the Houston Texans on Sunday. He has averaged 102.9 yards and has five touchdown catches in eight career games against Tennessee.

This is another sign that Houston's offense is getting better each game.

The Patriots, whom Watson faced in Week 3, have allowed a total of 12 touchdowns to quarterbacks in the first month of the National Football League season with just two coming against Watson. The Texans did not punt until late in the third quarter.

"Tough lesson for us", Mularkey said. As you can see, it's apparent that Bill O'Brien - and the rest of his coaching staff - has adjusted the game plan to suit Watson's strength and it's paying HUGE dividends. Watt helped raise over $30 million for relief efforts for the Houston area in the wake of Hurricane Harvey.

And just like previous year, the Titans were beaten by their division rival Houston Texans in a Week 4 road game, though this time it was much a more baffling and concerning performance.
