Eagles hold off Falcons, advance to NFC title game

Quarterback Nick Foles and the Philadelphia Eagles are moving on to the NFC Championship Game for the first time since the 2008 season.

The Philadelphia Eagles will compete in the NFC Championship game at Lincoln Financial Field on January 21 at 6:40 p.m. Fans have suggested a strong offense, Valium and plenty of alcohol to get through that game. With that break from Neal and those points to close the half - plus, clearly, a smart offensive game plan by head coach Doug Pederson - Foles managed the second half to near-perfection. He was under center the last time the Eagles reached the playoffs, which was the 2013 Wild Card round.

Foles finished 23 for 30 for 246 yards, good for a quarterback rating of 100.1. "And I understand that Carson's a great player". "And as soon as I saw the tight end come over, I shouted it out". "It never feels good to lose". On the very next play, Jay Ajayi fumbles the ball and the Falcons recover. The short drive started when the Falcons recovered a punt at the 18 yard line after it was touched by the Eagles.

Atlanta's decision to run a sprint rollout on the final play of the game was questioned during Quinn's press conference, largely due to the reason it cut the field in half.

"One thing I've learned playing 10 years in this league is that past success, prior success, or lack of prior success really doesn't have any bearing on the following season", said Ryan, an Exton native and, who went 22 for 36 for 210 yards Saturday, including a touchdown pass to running back Devonta Freeman.

Pederson did. And he chose to allow Elliott to pad the lead to 15-10 with a 21-yard field goal, putting the pressure on the Falcons to score a touchdown.

But of all three, there is something especially satisfying to see Keenum find this sudden good fortune.

"In those situations where you can get points going in at halftime, where there's not much time, it is huge", Nick Foles said. But Philly got three field goals from Jake Elliott and a touchdown run from LeGarrette Blount.

"I guess I'm gonna have to wear a dog mask", Pederson said Monday during his weekly appearance on sports radio station 94.1 WIP. There were many inside Lincoln Financial Field who would have gladly suited up a one-legged Wentz than a perfectly healthy Foles.

The Eagles social media team used a couple of tweets to remind folks, including the analysts at ESPN, that unanimously picking the Falcons helped to motivate the team (even tagging @OldTakesExposed).

Eagles defensive tackle Fletcher Cox, who was a force all game, said of Atlantas final drive: "Man, just stay calm". "To be a part of this team, that's what it has always been about. You know what? I will gladly take two more ugly wins and then we can have a lovely parade".

Some state representatives believe the Legislature needs to do something a lot of us are trying to do at this time of the year, after the reality of our festive holiday mood shows up around our waist.

Now, the Falcons must cope with a much earlier and almost as dramatic defeat as what they sustained last February.

But the former Pro Bowler would finish the game strong.
